Beach Day with Orbit
Monday, August 18, 2014
Michigan summers are worth writing about. Michigan winters blow. majorly. The only time they are talked about are when no one wants to go to school/work and wishes for snow days. Sadly I'm no longer in school so all I have to talk about is how glorious summer is. I realize that this summer hasn't been that great to be honest. There's only been a handful of nice, hot days unfortunately.
Sundays are usually spent doing laundry, cleaning and Jerek complaining he's bored. Well instead of doing boring things, i.e: see above, Jerek suggested the beach. I then started singing the infamous 'lets go to the beach beach lets go get away' song and it was decided. WE WERE OFF!
Last time we went to Port Huron the beach was small, packed and pretty rocky. This time Jer suggested that we go to Lake St. Clair Metropark, it was about half the distance than Port Huron was and let me tell you, it was 100 times better in terms of, EVERYTHING. The beach was smooth, the land was clean, there was TONS of parking, places to lay, sit and space to play. There was an Olympic size swimming pool with water slides and a big splash pad which both boys loved. There were tons of bikers, roller bladders and walkers. You can rent paddle boards {which I'm dying to do next time!} and there is also a boat launch. We will totally be going back a few more times before the weather leaves us!
Going to the beach with two small children is never an easy task as there is so much crap you need to lug with you! With Skylor growing out of his infant carrier and into a big boy carseat, I've been obsessed with my Orbit G3 stroller. We decided to bring both the G3 and our light weight Summer Infant 3Dlite. We've had our 3Dlite for a while now and it's a nice little fold up stroller but it has almost zero storage and did not do well pushing across the sand or grass. We basically brought it so Trace had somewhere to sit his buns down when he needed to.
The G3 on the other hand was a BREEZE to push through sand and grass. It acted as a high chair for Sky when we were eating with it's 360 degree turn capability it fit right up to the picnic table. It was a cot for when he was tired and needed some quite time out of the sun. It also fits any size Starbucks cup, just in case that is ever a question {Yes, it ran through my head!}
To see the stroller or us in action you can check out the vlog from Sunday up on my Youtube page. I wish we could spend every weekend at the beach but the summer is short and we are a busy family!
Side note: I do not promote frying like a tomato as skin cancer runs in my family. I simply freaking forgot and now have lame tan lines and a sunburn, nice one Chelsea.
I'm a brand ambassador for Orbit Baby and all opinions are my own

A Day In The Life| Friday Nights
Tuesday, March 11, 2014
|On Wednesday's, we wear pink.
And on Friday's we order pizza and do nothing|
I can fondly remember my Friday nights when I was in elementary school. TGIF was nothing short of amazing as a kid in the 90's. My dad was usually working a wedding and my mom was pretending that she knew how to cook [by ordering us pizza]. We were allowed to use TV trays and drink soda on the couch. We watched almost 3 hours straight of TV and stayed up late. These were nights I will always remember. Nights that I couldn't get out of school fast enough!
I want Trace and Sky to remember everything but traditions are something I'm really working on with them. It's hard enough getting Tracen up and out the door on daycare days so I've figured out that on Fridays I can get him excited for Pizza Party Friday's, as well as myself!
If you're nosey like I am, you will enjoy this. Here's a glimpse of what my Friday's tend to look like. I usually try and stay up late but end up falling a sleep on the couch while Jer watches some weirdo alien show.

Talk Dirty To Me
Thursday, February 13, 2014
This past week I spent too many hours at work, too many minutes explaining to Tracen why he shouldn't throw things at the TV and too many seconds complaining about the weather. No but seriously, this weather is the pits. WHERE ARE YOU SPRING!!!
Going alone with the last post about Youtube, I compiled this past weeks antics together and laughed while editing. I can't get enough of these boys. Life is memorable and at times I'm 110% a functioning zombie but that's what I signed up for right? right.
Makeup Hoarding
Wednesday, February 12, 2014
On any given day you can catch me watching Youtube videos. In fact, I watch them more than I watch cable TV that we pay for. I watch them when I am getting ready in the morning, on lunch at work or before bed when I'm forced to watch scary movies by Jerek and can't fall asleep till 3am. [that was last Saturday, not cool]
My subscriptions range from comedy to daily vlogs, to beauty to fitness and everything in between. Recently I've been watching a lot of makeup haul and storage videos because I hate the way I have mine stored. When we took away our walk in closet i.e: Skylor's room now, we had to make do with our master bedroom and buy dressers and put away my makeup table for now. I get ready between the bathroom and the dresser in our bedroom which has extremely bad lighting. My makeup storage has suffered because of this as well, thanks Sky. {kidding}
For 2014 I started off with some goals for January and continued into February. With one of my goals being to donate/declutter with focus on the basement. I've done extremely good with the basement and started to get real crazy Saturday and go through my makeup. I've hoarded a lot of crap, to put it bluntly. I use to buy a lot of make up just because it was on sale and cheap. As I've gotten older I've realized spending a little more on make up and hair care is something I think is worthwhile.
What I Got Rid Of:
As you can see, 90% of the products I'm getting rid of are mostly Ulta brand. Now it's not to say I don't like this brand any more but I use to buy things up when they would have their BOGO on makeup. All of the products pictures I ended up throwing away. I didn't feel comfortable donating these when they were all used no matter how good of a job I did sanitizing.
I'm sure there will be more makeup clean outs and questioning myself as to why the hell I bought something but that's the beauty of hoarding makeup! Plus the makeup industry survives off us!
